Our curriculum began as a visionary venture in 1998 when Dr. Michael and Olga Block, world-class economists, founded BASIS Charter Schools in Tucson, Arizona. They aimed to exceed educational standards, preparing students for college and beyond through the effective strategy of challenging them. After opening their first school, the Blocks found that a well-crafted, dynamic curriculum, coupled with teachers who genuinely cared about teaching it, led to exceptionally high academic success.
OUR MISSION: to raise the standards of education for our students to the highest international levels, we combine time-tested and innovative practices from around the world to inspire students to love learning and to help them cultivate the knowledge and skills that lead to excellent outcomes.

The BASIS Prague International School campus is located in Prague 4 (Podolí) and is intended for children in Levels 1–6 (ages: 5–11). This school campus also offers a Transitional Kindergarten program (Level) for younger children (ages: 5-6) which focuses on the smooth transition and preparation for entering our primary school.

1. Unique Spiraling curriculum:
Our "spiraled" curriculum re-addresses major course topics at each grade level to enrich their knowledge, proficiency, and self-confidence.
2. Interdisciplinary Approach:
We teach key courses (math, science, humanities, liberal arts, etc.) in an interconnected way which consequently boosts student's critical thinking and deeper understanding.
3. Technology to Anchor Knowledge:
Utilizing our software platform SPORK, we provide our teachers with educational materials and give real-time assessments of the student's performance as they practice their new skills and knowledge in the classroom.
4. Hands-on Experience:
Each instructional lesson is accompanied by experiments and hands-on experiences, allowing the students to be active participants in their education while gaining proficiency in the topics taught.

Our teachers are energetic, enthusiastic, and highly qualified educators who allow students to discover the joy of learning and develop self-confidence. For the key courses, we employ two teachers in the classroom.

With the help of our international team, composed of native English-speaking educators, our program is taught fully in English which leads to the rapid acquirement of the English language.
